SkyTeam celebrates 10 year anniversary

Back to news

One of the biggest airline alliances celebrates it's ten year anniversary. A special issue of the airline's eZine called Decades has been released to sum up the achievements and project the future. From the humble beginnings in 2000 with four participating airlines the alliance has now grown into a big competitor. Its current 13 airlines serve destinations all over the world.

About SkyTeam

The airline alliance SkyTeam, managed from Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), was founded in 2000 by Aeromexico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. Since then, it has grown into second largest airline alliance in the world (in passenger numbers), behind Star Alliance. As the managing director, Marie-Joseph Male, pointed out, the alliance now serves over 460 million passengers with almost 900 destinations connected.
